The Truth About Dating, Love & Just Being Friends by Chad Eastham

I just got this book a few hours ago (it was a little slow getting here) and I have to say it really has opened my eyes up about dating. It's helped me discover a little bit about myself as well as dating, love and being friends from a guys perspective. Chad gets really into depth about everything a person needs to know; as well as the light humor portrayed in the book. There was a lot of interesting facts I learned while reading as well. I discovered that I have made similar mistakes in the past while dating and after reading this book I feel as if I have a better understanding and will begin to better myself so that next time I'm in a relationship-I won't be so hung up on trying to make sure I'm doing something right, but rather just enter into it naturally. I will sure be reading more of his books in the future.

The Shelter Of God's Promises by Sheila Walsh

The book was inspiring by far-not exactly a 5 star but one that was easy to understand and relate to. The book starts out as she explained a hiking trip her and her friends went on. She explained how everything goes through a period of time and about surviving the elements while having something to believe in. Sheila also has subtle light humor. She explains a lot of the bible and incorporates it into her travels. She has traveled many places, and has preached to all kinds of life. She goes back from bible scriptures to telling of her own story and the people she has encountered. I must say I did not like the one chapter when she was telling of torment and used the scripture of possession, that was a powerful chapter to explain, which was very well done-I just didn't care for it, that has always been a touchy subject for me and i never like reading about it even if it is just in passing. I do recommend the book, though it does get a bit tedious. She does a fantastic job in her writing, and switching back and forth from her story to scripture. The ending leaves you with a sense of peace and faith, but also (at least for me) question.

The Power Based Life

The Power Based Life by Mike Flynt; is a book people should read if they want to really discover who they are. I'm a fast reader in general and was really hooked on what he had to say. His visualizing through different scenarios was strong and confident, which he projected well in his writing. It was easy to understand and helping to really understand things about how a person's mind works, how we perceive things and why we shouldn't become angry if things don't work out in real life as it does in our imagination . He used references from the bible to make some valid points and how it incorporates into our everyday lives. He shows the reader how to stay positive even if we don't get what we want, or if things are going bad- he shows how to visualize those negative thoughts and push them away-or to make those negative thoughts into positive ones. This book gives a very detailed understanding and is an easy and self discovering book. His illustrations are very visual, and clear; the image he sets forth in the readers mind from his own experiences are very vivid and spiritual. I do recommend this book highly if you want to get started on the right track to building and strengthening yourself from the outside in.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (movie)

I found the movie 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' to be a well remake of the 1987 film 'Wall Street' and really go into the credentials of stock market; and the way it works. During the movie I had several moments where I thought; This really happens? There's never any proof, but sometimes there doesn't have to be, as the numbers speak for themselves. The stock market makes and breaks lives every single day- a gambler's game if you will; filled with deceit, percents, quotes and the art of inside fraud manipulation. The destruction aspect is very real life, because losing stock has the ability to change everything. I know this from personal experience as it has happened to someone I know.

The movie is set in New York City; Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) is finally released after eight years in prison for supposed illegal inside trading. He wastes no time in making a plan to get right back to the top-with an added bonus of revenge for the guy who put him in prison in the first place. Using Jake Moore (Shia LaBeouf) as his lackey. Things however are not all they seem on the surface.

Throughout the movie, Gekko keeps making references that the viewer may or may not understand, which veils his character in an even deeper mystery. There aren't many plot twists but there is one at the end that gave me great respect for Gordon Gekko. I do recommend seeing this movie, the cast was flawless; and the movie itself delivers a powerful performance.

My Blog

This is something I've wanted to do for awhile. Write reviews, and giving my view into an insight of books and movies; maybe even at times music. I love all of them and figure a blog was a good place to start. Right now I'm waiting for a book I ordered in the mail called 'Buried Alive' it's a true story of a contractor being held captive for over 10 months and looked like an interesting read. I will have a review on that once I receive and read it.

I'm a writer myself-my punctuation sucks but writing is a passion of mine. One I hope to express in this blog.
